The JareBear's Blog
I post about sports on Facebook almost exclusively. My friends make fun of me for it. I decided I will keep a log of these sports thoughts, copy them over here, and see if I can get any sort of reaction from other sports fans whatsoever.
Admittedly, this concept is flawed as all these topics are old news now. Perhaps I should post rants in here going forward instead of flooding my Facebook feed with them.

I'm sorry, I don't feel bad for Tim Tebow. If he wants to be in the NFL, he needs to say "I will play whatever position you want me to play." I guarantee he would find a spot somewhere. It's not that teams don't want Tebow. It's that teams don't want a backup QB who is more popular than their starting QB. That's a freaking disaster. The dude isn't a good NFL quarterback. I mean, the numbers don't lie. He's an NFL caliber athlete though and undoubtedly would be utilized somewhere if he, his camp, and his rabid fan base drop the ego and accept reality. Personally, I would love to see Tebow playing in the NFL this season. His versatility presents some pretty fascinating possibilities. You could line him up all over the place.

The Broncos signed Quentin "Lit Up Light A Freaking Christmas Tree" Jammer? Uh, What? I could signed for far less money and still done the same job as that guy. Wow. Just when you think a team is starting to make all the right moves. The only way I see this working out is if he is asked to move to safety. You put this guy one on one against any quality WR in the NFL and the other team is gonna bang their head against the goalpost from scoring so do damn quickly.

(On Chris Broussard's comments on Collins) This is how you ruin a career that took years to establish and the decades of income it would have provided, all in the span of 45 seconds. People need to realize that while you are more than entitled to your opinion and have the right to to express it, you do not have the right to say whatever you want without repercussion from your employer. Most everyone signs a code of conduct when they are hired. While I don't think what Broussard says was filled with hate and malice (to me it just comes off as a tad bit ignorant, but not entirely spiteful), I also don't think I will be seeing him on ESPN anytime soon. (Clearly I was wrong in that one regard)

I gotta say, all-around great job by the Chargers today. I believe all three of their picks thus far will make an impact this season. I hope A.J. Smith didn't let the door hit his *** on the way out. I am more excited for rounds 2 and 2 of the draft than I was for the first last night. Don't get me wrong, I was listening on my phone the whole time while I was at a JV League Championships, but I feel like this is one of those years where the talent drop off from the mid-first to the end of the third is pretty non-existant. A lot of good players still left. I think that Matt Elam and Shariff Floyd were steals. I thought they were two of the top 10 players as far as talent and immediate difference-making ability. I like the 9ers getting Eric Reid out of LSU to replace Goldson at safety. Quite honestly, I really like what the Raiders did. They traded down, got more picks, and still got the guy they always wanted. But, in my most humble opinion, almost every fanbase should be happy. Every team except for Buffalo and New England (duh, no pick in the first) got a guy who can contribute day one for sure. I am really, really hoping that a guy like Stefan Taylor from Stanford or Tyrann Mathieu drops to Denver in the third. If either of those guys, or Lattimore from S. Car, are available in the third, I think you have to take them.
